This is a silver spoon with the monogram SAB on it. It’s pretty beat up, but is a neat heirloom.

Letter from Lois Duncan 4/9/84
You made my day! I’ve read your letter and copies you sent over and over. Years ago when I got stymied on Leroy Camden (Duncan), Sybil’s brother, I pursued Sybil. I suppose mainly because I felt they must have been close. He was executor with her on her husband’s will. Anyway, my husband took me to Blackwater Cemetery - we saw Sarah Fuqua’s grave and we also figured out where the Boisseau cemetery must have been although there’s nothing there now. Pretty countryside.
We found the Boisseau house and it had this strange looking concrete (?) porch like thing in front of it. Possibly the “stile block” in “Cicley’s Trust”? I just hope it’s still there. Husband said we will go look it up again and take a picture for you.
Wouldn’t it be great to have a picture of it as described in the story? I had wondered about a Sybil having a slave since her brother Leroy was a strong Union man. He was a captain in the Civil War. Sybil’s son served with him also.
... A descendant of Peter hatch Duncan has written a book on ancestors for her nieces and nephews only. We didn’t get one, not being in that line, but one of them let me copy some info. And that’s what I’ll be typing from for you. She also has since died. She was unmarried and I really don’t know who her family memorabilia went to. Her Mother’s name was Sybil Ann Boisseau Duncan.
... I just like the old history and mainly “the search”! I get real excited with each new piece of info - it’s hard to concentrate on anything else when the trail gets hot again.
... I wonder if Sybil & Benj. were moved to Warrensburg Cem. or at least their stones. At the site of Daniel’s grave is 2 stones that say “Father” and “Mother” - there was just a feeling about them - like they were older stones or didn’t fit in with his. Never checked up on it except to ask at Heritage Library. They didn’t know. thanks again for writing - do so anytime.
